Grateful to Afghans and Ulama for Obeying the Islamic Emirate, says Hibatullah Akhundzada
Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), addressed scholars from districts in Kandahar, expressing gratitude to Afghanistan's ulama and people for their obedience to the Islamic Emirate.
According to a statement from Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, Akhundzada described the ulama as leaders and guides of the Ummah in Sharia matters. He stated that the entire Ummah and emirs are obligated to obey scholars on religious issues, seek their guidance and consult them.
"Encourage people to practice unity, obey one another, and consult among yourselves. The system is built by you and can also be harmed by you. If you remain vigilant, this system will endure," Akhundzada said. He urged eliminating customs of ignorance, attentiveness to responsibilities, avoiding worldly covetousness and favoritism, and promoting obedience for unity and strength.
Akhundzada emphasized that ulama have preserved Islam and Sharia against distortions. "Allah Almighty has placed a heavy responsibility on the ulama. If the scholars have strong determination and resolve, many evils will be removed from society," he said, calling on them to explain vices' harms, teach Sharia rulings and reform people. He noted Afghans' piety, their sacrifices for Islam, and ulama's duty to prevent sedition and corruption.
The IEA leader stressed that the Islamic system's survival depends on religious knowledge, tasking the system with promoting it and ulama with conveying it to people.
At the speech's end, the ulama renewed their pledge of allegiance to Akhundzada, vowing steadfast support for his leadership and the Sharia-based system.
