The Economic Commission of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has approved the implementation of a centralized electronic system for managing correspondence and administrative documents across government administrations. The commission, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, stated that the new digital framework is intended to enhance transparency, improve data security, and advance e-governance standards within state institutions.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has been directed to execute the rollout of the platform in gradual phases. Officials noted that the transition aims to streamline bureaucratic procedures, reduce administrative delays, and establish a more efficient record-keeping infrastructure for all Emirate offices.
During the same session, the commission reviewed a portfolio of public welfare initiatives financed through national mining revenues. A total of 22 projects were examined, with comprehensive economic analyses completed and formally approved for 13 of them. Fieldwork and practical implementation have already commenced on nine additional projects.
The commission emphasized that the integration of digital administrative tools remains a priority for institutional reform. By digitizing official correspondence, the government aims to minimize paperwork, accelerate decision-making processes, and ensure secure archival of state records across all provincial and central ministries.
All commission decisions and accompanying project reports have been forwarded to the office of the Commander of the Faithful for final review and authorization. The meeting underscored the administration’s focus on modernizing bureaucratic operations while directing resource revenues toward community development and infrastructure initiatives.
