KABUL (Pajhwok): Security forces have recovered and seized 15 pistols during a search operation in western Herat province.
Mullah Mohammad Anwar Bariqi, deputy head of counter-terrorism at the Herat police command, said the weapons were seized by counter-terrorism units during an operation in the province.
He added that the pistols were smuggled into Afghanistan from Pakistan.
According to him, one suspect has been arrested in connection with the case and investigations are ongoing.
He emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against any illegal activities and arms trafficking.
