Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi Stresses Teaching as Islamic, Moral and National Responsibility

Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Administrative Deputy of the Prime Minister's Office, delivered a speech at a ceremony marking the start of the new academic year organized by the Ministry of Education.

Hanafi congratulated officials, teachers, students and families on the beginning of the academic year and thanked the Ministry of Education for organizing the event. He said the ministry is making efforts to provide quality educational services in madrasas and schools across Afghanistan.

Addressing parents, he emphasized that the family environment plays a fundamental role in the education and upbringing of children through behavior, habits and daily affairs. He urged parents to make every effort in the education and healthy upbringing of their children.

Hanafi told teachers that being a teacher is not just a job but an Islamic, moral and national responsibility. He said teachers must strive to educate and train the future generation by providing quality lessons at primary, secondary and high school levels.

He addressed students directly, calling on them to make proper use of educational opportunities and to spend time learning the Holy Quran and Islamic sciences from mosques and scholars outside of school hours.

Hanafi stated that the Islamic Emirate is committed to providing quality educational services for the children of the country. He called on the Ministry of Education to work comprehensively on curriculum, educational materials, laboratories, teacher capacity building, school supervision and the progress of educational affairs.

The event was held at Amani High School in Kabul and included additional speakers. Anwar-ul-Haq Anwar, Director General of the Office of Administrative Affairs, highlighted the importance of education for national progress and the role of curriculum in shaping students' mindsets. Several teachers pledged to exert full efforts in providing quality education and raising an ethical generation.
