Russian airstrikes struck multiple Ukrainian regions, including Kyiv and Lviv, killing at least 13 people and wounding dozens. The attacks damaged residential buildings, schools, kindergartens and infrastructure.
In Kyiv's Obolon district, a strike hit a market and caused a fire that covered 100 square meters. Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovyi said a direct missile strike damaged a building, injured more than 20 people and affected 21 residential buildings along with two kindergartens and one school.
Poland placed fighter jets on alert following the attacks. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stated that the United States had approved a permit for Ukraine to receive Patriot systems.
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that the strikes targeted military and infrastructure sites.
