A 26-year feud between the families of Doulat Khan and Mir Wali from Khost and Paktia provinces has been resolved. The conflict, which began more than two decades ago, had claimed one life and created tensions between the two families across provincial lines.

Mediation efforts by tribal elders and the Khost Directorate of Borders, Tribes and Ethnic Affairs successfully brought the parties to an agreement. The reconciliation process involved negotiations that addressed the historical grievances stemming from the initial incident.

This marks the 111th such reconciliation in Khost province handled by the relevant conflict prevention commission. Officials noted that these mediations play a key role in maintaining social harmony in the region.

Maulvi Mia Mohammad Wali Siddiqui, director of the Khost Directorate of Borders, Tribes and Ethnic Affairs, participated in the mediation alongside Maulvi Meraj Gul Meraj, governor of Bak district. The families have formally pledged to live in peace and avoid any future conflicts.

The resolution allows both families to move forward without the burden of ongoing enmity. Community leaders expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the talks.
