2,795 Afghan Refugees Forcibly Returned to Afghanistan in One Day

The High Commission for Addressing the Problems of Refugees reported that 540 Afghan families totaling 2,795 people were forcibly returned to Afghanistan in one day. The largest share of returns occurred through the Torkham border point, where officials recorded 413 families and 2,255 individuals.
The Transport and Transfer Committee arranged onward transport for 439 families comprising 2,442 members to various provinces, providing financial facilities to support their relocation. Cash assistance was extended to 1,075 families, and 518 SIM cards were distributed to returnees.
Health services, food provisions, and public awareness programs continue to be delivered to the returnees by the commission. These measures aim to address immediate needs following their arrival back in Afghanistan.
