Local officials in Kandahar have reclaimed around 500 acres of land belonging to the industrial park in the fifth district. The area had been usurped almost two decades ago.

This recovery came after the High Commission for Prevention of Usurpation of State Lands and Recovery of Usurped Lands issued a decision on the matter. A technical committee was tasked with carrying out the necessary operations on the ground.

The committee worked in coordination with the police, intelligence services, and additional departments. They demolished any structures present on the land once it became clear that the claimants lacked proper documentation.

Warnings had been issued to those asserting ownership, but no valid legal documents or religious deeds were provided in response. The process ensured that the land was cleared without valid claims being upheld.

The purpose of reclaiming this land is to support industrial and commercial activities in the region. Investors will be given facilitated access to develop projects on the site.

Over the course of the past year, Kandahar has seen the recovery of some 35,000 jeribs of state land from similar usurpation cases. This latest action adds to those efforts in securing state properties.
