The Afghan Red Crescent Society has handed over 60 newly built residential houses to earthquake-affected families in Bidak Murad Kohi village of Gulran district, Herat province.
The houses were constructed at a cost of 20 million afghanis and will provide shelter to around 420 people.
Azizur Rahman, deputy head of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, was quoted on the completion of the project.
The organization had previously delivered 288 houses in Gulran and Zinda Jan districts of Herat at a cost exceeding 102 million afghanis.
Construction of 152 additional houses is underway in Kunar, Balkh and Samangan provinces.
