Mohammad Zahir Sarwari won a bronze medal in the 100 kilogram category at the 15th Asian Kurash Championships in Tajikistan.
Sayed Mohammad Zia Dashti, head of the Afghanistan Kurash, Sambo and Rustami Wrestling Federation, confirmed the result. Mirajuddin Chakmar and Zabihullah Ahsani also secured bronze medals the previous day.
Six Afghan athletes are competing in the event, which features participants from 28 countries.
