Afghanistan's Consul General in Mashhad, Mawlawi Noor Mohammad Mutawakkil, met with Birjand University president Dr. Ahmad Khamsan to explore ways to enhance scientific and academic cooperation. The discussions centered on building stronger educational partnerships and facilitating academic exchanges between institutions in Afghanistan and Iran.

Participants examined mechanisms to support ongoing university cooperation between the two countries. Additional topics included the provision of more educational facilities for Afghan students, the resolution of consular challenges, and efforts to reduce study costs at Birjand University as well as other higher education institutions in South Khorasan Province.
