Afghan Consul General in Mashhad Meets Birjand University President on Academic Cooperation

Afghanistan's Consul General in Mashhad, Mawlawi Noor Mohammad Mutawakkil, met with Birjand University president Dr. Ahmad Khamsan to explore ways to enhance scientific and academic cooperation. The discussions centered on building stronger educational partnerships and facilitating academic exchanges between institutions in Afghanistan and Iran.

Participants examined mechanisms to support ongoing university cooperation between the two countries. Additional topics included the provision of more educational facilities for Afghan students, the resolution of consular challenges, and efforts to reduce study costs at Birjand University as well as other higher education institutions in South Khorasan Province.

Mawlawi Noor Mohammad Mutawakkil noted that assisting Afghan students and ensuring access to improved educational environments constitutes a key priority. He called for greater coordination between educational institutions and consular offices to address student needs effectively.

Both sides agreed on the value of sustained dialogue and collaborative initiatives aimed at bettering the circumstances of Afghan students while reinforcing scientific and cultural connections between Afghanistan and Iran. The meeting concluded with commitments to pursue these objectives through continued engagement.
