Reza Hosseinpour, star of Afghanistan's national futsal team, has signed a contract with Al-Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

Hosseinpour delivered a standout performance at the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup, where he scored four goals and was among Afghanistan's key players. One of his goals, scored against Malaysia, was named the tournament's best.

He arrived in the UAE three days ago, passed medical tests and finalized the deal. Confirming the move, Hosseinpour wrote: "I hope to be a good representative for my country."

Al-Shabab Al-Ahli sits sixth in the eight-team UAE futsal league after 14 weeks, with two wins, one draw and 11 losses. Kalba leads with 31 points. The club has bolstered its squad with a Brazilian coach, Hosseinpour and two Brazilian players ahead of the second half, though championship hopes are slim. Focus has shifted to the UAE Futsal Cup.

Hosseinpour has handled residency, medical checks and contract signing. His player card is due soon, allowing debut in the next match, likely in the cup as the league pauses for the tournament.
