Afghan Ministry Spokesman Labels Pakistan PM's Muslim Unity Remarks Hypocrisy
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that during talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, he expressed sorrow over the killing of Iranian citizens in US and Israeli attacks.
Sharif wrote: "In these talks, besides resolving the current crisis, I emphasized the unity of the Ummah and renewed my commitment to play Pakistan's constructive role in resolving problems."
Habib Ghafran, spokesman for Afghanistan's Ministry of Information and Culture, denounced Sharif's statements as "clear hypocrisy." Ghafran referenced Sharif declaring Donald Trump a hero amid ongoing violence in Palestine.
Ghafran also pointed to an attack by Pakistan's military regime on a major treatment center in Kabul, where more than 400 patients were killed. "In that attack, you showed no mercy even to the weakest segments and did not even respect the month of Ramadan," Ghafran wrote.
Addressing Sharif directly, Ghafran described the remarks on Ummah unity as shameful and said Pakistan's atrocities in Afghan territory "will be counted among the worst examples in history."
The exchange highlights tensions between Afghan and Pakistani officials amid regional discussions on Muslim solidarity.
