Abdullah Jalali, a resident of Khash Rud district in Afghanistan's Nimroz province, was executed at Zahedan Prison in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

The execution occurred on Wednesday after Jalali had been arrested four years earlier in Zahedan on drug charges.

The human rights organization HalVash reported the execution. Iranian authorities have not commented on the matter.

Reliability assessment

Single source (Khaama Press) provides direct attribution to named organization HalVash with concrete, checkable details including full name, home district, arrest location, prison, and approximate timeline. Iranian authorities' lack of comment does not undermine the verifiable fact that HalVash reported the execution.

The source language mixes facts with framing or advocacy wording. Khaama Press: "highlighting ongoing concerns", "growing challenges facing Afghan migrants and refugees", "worsening humanitarian crisis" — these phrases frame the events with mild emotional and advocacy language rather than neutral reporting.
