Afghan Public Health Ministry Delegation Travels to Uzbekistan to Improve Imported Medicine Quality

The Ministry of Public Health has sent a technical delegation to Uzbekistan. This move is aimed at improving the quality of medicines that are imported into Afghanistan.
Leading the delegation is Mawlawi Abdul Basir Qani. He holds the position of Director of Medicines and Health Products Regulation within the ministry.
During the visit, the delegation members will tour pharmaceutical factories. They will look at the production capacities of these factories. Quality control systems will also be reviewed closely.
The team will gain familiarity with the standards and systems that are in place. Evaluation of GMP implementation will form a key part of the activities.
The delegation will conduct meetings with authorities in Uzbekistan. It will also meet with companies that manufacture medicines. The goal is to make it easier to import medicines that are standard, safe, effective and of high quality.
This journey supports the work of the Food and Drugs Deputy Ministry. Efforts include raising the quality of imported medicines. Regional cooperation is being strengthened through such visits. Access to quality medicines is another priority being addressed.
