
Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health destroys 1,290 tons of substandard medicines and food
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health announced that more than 1,200 tons of substandard, low-quality and expired medicines and food have been collected and destroyed during the current solar year.
Dr. Sharafuddin Zamani, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health, stated that the ministry's efforts aim to ensure quality and standard medicines reach the public, while markets provide safe and quality food.
According to Zamani, supervisory teams collected and destroyed 1,290 tons of substandard, illegal medicines, as well as food and health products from various parts of the country. He explained that these items were expired or had deteriorated in quality.
Zamani added that the ministry leadership has instructed supervisory teams in the center and provinces to collect low-quality foods and medicines, prevent the entry of unsafe products and destroy them.
