Amir al-Mu'minin Addresses Scholars in Kandahar
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan -- His Excellency Amir al-Mu'minin, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, addressed a gathering of scholars from districts across Kandahar province in the province's conference hall.
The event was attended by Kandahar Governor, the General Director of the Affairs Department, the General Director of the Red Crescent, the Military Deputy of the Supreme Court, the General Director of the Central Dar al-Ifta, and other officials and scholars.
Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, issued a press release summarizing the address. Amir al-Mu'minin emphasized scholars' role as leaders of the nation in Sharia matters, stating that both the nation and its leaders must adhere to their guidance.
"Scholars have been the guardians of religion, Islam, and Sharia rules," he said. "Throughout history, attempts have been made to distort Islam, but scholars have consistently defended its integrity."
Amir al-Mu'minin urged scholars to educate the community on Sharia rulings and combat societal evils. "We have a heavy responsibility," he declared. "If scholars show commitment, we can eradicate many societal ills."
He called on scholars to highlight the consequences of moral failures to foster community reformation and expressed appreciation to the Afghan people and scholars for their obedience and support of the Islamic Emirate. "The survival and success of our system depend on religious knowledge, which must be disseminated widely," he stated.
Amir al-Mu'minin encouraged unity, noting the system's strength lies in collective obedience to religious values, and urged scholars to reject worldly temptations and remain diligent.
The gathering concluded with scholars renewing their allegiance to Amir al-Mu'minin and pledging support for his leadership and the Sharia system. The event ended with a prayer led by Amir al-Mu'minin for the Islamic system and the people of Afghanistan.
