Central Asian representatives emphasize stability and expansion of economic cooperation with Afghanistan
Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted an extraordinary meeting of special representatives from Central Asian countries for Afghanistan on Monday, held within the framework of the Contact Group.
Participants emphasized providing stability and expanding cooperation with Afghanistan under Taliban administration. Kazakhstan's state news agency reported that Erkin Tokomov, special representative of Kazakhstan's president for Afghanistan, supported constructive exchanges of views and practical solutions for cooperation with the Taliban administration.
Representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan discussed developing trade and economic cooperation, as well as expanding transit and transport corridors through Afghanistan. They also addressed regional security issues.
No specific decisions from the meeting have been published. Participants stressed the importance of coordinating Central Asian countries' actions to ensure stability and sustainable development in Afghanistan.
