Charity Opens Free School for Hundreds of Students in Herat
A charity foundation has opened a newly constructed school in a village within the Injil district of Herat province, providing free education and academic supplies to hundreds of students. The facility is designed to meet standard educational requirements and has already begun enrolling children from surrounding rural communities who previously lacked access to formal schooling.
According to project officials, the comprehensive development, which also included the construction of a nearby mosque, required an investment of nearly one million dollars. Saad Khatibi, head of the charity foundation, stated that the initiative aims to address longstanding educational gaps in the region by removing financial barriers for local families. Students and residents have noted that the availability of free schooling and necessary learning materials has significantly reduced the economic burden on households in the district.
In addition to the current educational facilities, organizers have announced concrete plans to construct a university in the same vicinity. The proposed higher education institution is intended to offer tuition-free programs specifically for local youth, further expanding academic opportunities in the province. The project underscores ongoing efforts by charitable organizations to support community development and improve educational infrastructure across western Afghanistan.
