
Clean Drinking Water Network Completed for 150 Families in Balkh Province
A new water supply network has been completed and officially handed over to residents in Bibi Norya Qurbani village, located in the Dawlatabad district of Balkh province. The infrastructure project is designed to deliver clean drinking water to one hundred and fifty local households.
Mawlawi Yarmohammad Shabir, the head of the Balkh Rural Rehabilitation and Development Directorate, announced the completion of the initiative. He confirmed that the project was implemented with financial backing from the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund at a total cost of five million, seven hundred and thirty thousand, seven hundred and eighty-three Afghanis.
The newly constructed facility features a one hundred and thirty-meter deep well, water storage reservoirs with a capacity of forty-three thousand liters, and twenty-six solar panels to operate the pumping system. Provincial officials noted that the integration of renewable energy is intended to provide a reliable and continuous water supply for the community.
The handover ceremony marked the official transition of the network to local management. Authorities stated that the project addresses a longstanding need for accessible drinking water in the district. The provincial Rural Rehabilitation and Development Directorate confirmed that the system is fully operational and ready for immediate use by the beneficiary families. The project was executed under the direct supervision of provincial development authorities.
