End of 67-Year Enmity Among Kochi Tribe in Khost
KHOST, Afghanistan — Afghanistan's Ministry of Borders, Tribes and Ethnicities announced the end of a 67-year enmity that had arisen among the Kochi tribe in Khost province over internal issues.
The ministry stated that a ceremony was held to mark the resolution, during which speakers encouraged the two conflicting parties to practice patience, endurance, unity and forgiveness.
The speakers stressed that enmity brings only misfortune, while peace creates the foundation for tranquility and happiness.
The ministry noted that the long-standing feud was transformed into friendship through the mediation of officials, religious scholars and tribal elders. It had previously resulted in one person killed and another wounded.
This resolution highlights ongoing efforts by the ministry to address tribal disputes through dialogue and traditional mediation mechanisms.
