A European Union delegation visited Badakhshan province to inspect development and humanitarian projects in the districts of Faizabad, Baharak, and Arghanjkhaw.

The projects aim to strengthen the local economy, improve basic services, support livelihoods, agriculture, irrigation, and health, and empower women and youth through skills training. They seek to reduce communities' vulnerability to economic challenges, food insecurity, and climate impacts.

Implemented with European Union support in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme, the World Food Programme, the Aga Khan Foundation, and other partners, the initiatives have included microloans, rehabilitation of irrigation canals serving thousands of people, greenhouses, dairy processing facilities, and women's training centers.

The delegation highlighted continued backing for vulnerable populations through these efforts focused on economic empowerment, agriculture, health services, and infrastructure.
