Five people were killed and extensive damage occurred due to floods, storms and landslides in eight Afghan provinces over the past 48 hours.
The Taliban Natural Disaster Management Administration reported that 199 families were affected in the provinces of Kabul, Zabul, Kandahar, Samangan, Takhar, Nangarhar, Laghman and Kunar.
Thirty homes and 15 shops were partially destroyed, crops on 2,225 jeribs of agricultural land were ruined, and approximately 300 livestock were killed.
Additional losses included damage to dozens of kilometers of roads, a water network and a bridge.
Spokesperson Hafiz Mohammad Yusuf Hamad said the administration is assessing the full scope of damages and providing aid to victims.
Since the beginning of solar year 1405, natural disasters have killed 314 people and injured 397 others across the country.
