The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, 7th Hamal. British Transport Police said Ahmadzai fell to the ground following a scuffle with unknown individuals.
Doctors have warned that the full extent of any long-term damage may take up to six months to determine.
Two 17-year-old girls were arrested at the scene but were later released on bail as police investigations continue.
Ahmadzai served in the Afghan Special Police and as an interpreter with British forces before joining the Afghan Army Special Forces. He underwent 2.5 years of training at the Sandhurst military academy and served as deputy commander of a special counter-terrorism unit. He was deployed during the Intercontinental Hotel attack in Daqiqa 1396 and the maternity hospital attack in Thawr 1399.
After leaving Afghanistan, Ahmadzai resettled in Britain and took a job as a security guard at the railway station.
A family friend set up a donation page for his medical costs, which had raised more than 10,000 pounds by the evening of Monday, 17th Hamal.
