France Bans US Ambassador from Meeting Government Officials
Charles Kushner, the United States ambassador to Paris, has been barred from meeting with French ministers and other government officials.
According to a report by Agence France-Presse (AFP) on Tuesday, February 24, Kushner ignored a summons from the French Foreign Ministry. This action followed his comments regarding the killing of Quentin Dranck, a French far-right activist.
Dranck was beaten and killed during a clash with activists suspected of being far-left extremists, the report stated.
The French Foreign Ministry said the death of the far-right activist is an internal matter and should not be politicized.
This marks the second time the US ambassador has ignored a summons from the French Foreign Ministry.
