
Futsal Trial Competitions Held in Balkh Province
Futsal trial competitions took place in Mazar-i-Sharif, Balkh province, involving nearly 200 athletes under 17 years old from northern and northeastern Afghanistan.
The Balkh Provincial Football Federation organized the event to identify and attract top futsal talents for the country's national teams. Ahmadullah Waizazada, president of the Balkh Football Federation, and Behrooz Jafari, head coach of Afghanistan's U-17 national futsal team, stated that the competitions aimed to provide opportunities for these young players to join national squads.
Athletes participating in the trials described the program as crucial for the development of young talents. They said the matches offered a valuable chance to showcase their abilities.
Khanmir Tayeb, sports director of the Physical Education and Olympics Department of Balkh Province, pledged full support for athletes across various sports disciplines. He announced that similar programs to promote sports growth and identify young talents would be held in the province in the future.
