Growing concerns over potential radiation risks have emerged following attacks carried out by the United States and Israel on multiple Iranian nuclear facilities.

The facilities hit include those located in Bushehr, Khondab and Yazd. The International Atomic Energy Agency announced that Iran reported the attacks on its nuclear facilities in these areas.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has warned that such attacks on nuclear facilities must be stopped in order to prevent a potential nuclear incident. Grossi noted that the consequences could impact not only Iran but also nearby regions.

Iranian officials have maintained that the situation at all of the attacked sites remains normal. They have confirmed there has been no increase in radiation levels, no immediate threat to the surrounding areas and that no individuals were harmed in the strikes.

The attacks took place even though US President Donald Trump had announced two days earlier that all strikes on Iran's energy facilities would be paused until April 6 in order to facilitate ongoing negotiations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi stated that the attacks were conducted by Israel in coordination with the United States and that they violated the deadline set by Trump. Araqchi further said that Israel will have to pay the price for these attacks.

The most recent strike targeted the Bushehr nuclear facility, situated near the Persian Gulf and operated jointly by Iran and a Russian state-owned company.

In a related development, delegations representing Tehran and Washington are scheduled to hold their first direct meeting in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad in the near future with the aim of reducing tensions between the two countries.

Reliability assessment

Single source (ToloNews) provides direct, on-record attribution with concrete, checkable details including named officials (Rafael Grossi, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Donald Trump), specific facility names and locations (Bushehr, Khondab, Yazd), and timelines. Verifiable facts center on 'X said Y' from named public figures and IAEA announcement of Iran's report.

The source language mixes facts with framing or advocacy wording. ToloNews: Title phrase 'increasing concerns over radiation' introduces mild emotional framing of growing fears, despite body reporting Iranian assurances of normalcy and no threats; repeated use of 'warned' (هشدار داده) for IAEA and Iranian statements adds advocacy tone to official cautions.
