Acting Minister of Higher Education Sheikh al-Hadith Maulvi Neda Mohammad Nadim held an online meeting with Kazakhstan's Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek. The two sides discussed bilateral scientific cooperation with a focus on research into water, food security, and climate change challenges.

Nadim highlighted these issues as top priorities for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. He requested Kazakh assistance in sending professors, building research capacity, and establishing centers in Afghan universities.

Sayasat Nurbek pledged cooperation including on a water research center at Kabul University. The two countries have previously signed memorandums of understanding on scientific, educational, and higher education cooperation.

The virtual meeting allowed the ministers to explore areas of mutual interest in the higher education sector. Both officials expressed interest in advancing joint projects that could benefit their respective academic communities. This engagement builds on existing agreements between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Kazakhstan.
