The Hengaw Human Rights Organization reported that Iranian authorities executed two Afghan citizens on drug-related charges at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
The men were named as Mirwais Khalilzadi, 55, from Jalalabad, and Ibrahim Ahmadshahi, 40, from Khost. The executions occurred at dawn on 31 Jawza.
Rights monitors said the executions bring the total number of Afghan citizens put to death in Iranian prisons since the start of 2026 to at least 12. The executions have not been announced by Iranian state media or judiciary sources.
