Iranian President Pezeshkian Says Iran Has Will to End War with Israel, US if Guarantees Provided
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Tuesday that Iran has the "necessary will" to end the ongoing war with Israel and the United States, but only if guarantees are provided to prevent future aggression.
Pezeshkian made the comments during a phone conversation with the President of the European Council, according to the Iranian President's Office.
A day earlier, during a cabinet meeting, Pezeshkian said any decision to end the war must guarantee the security and interests of the Iranian people.
He cited "army resistance" and "national unity" as key factors in overcoming the situation and praised supportive public rallies for strengthening Iran's position.
Tensions have escalated since Israeli and U.S. attacks on Iran began on February 28, 2026. The conflicts have resulted in more than 1,340 deaths.
Iran has conducted drone and missile attacks against targets in Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf states hosting U.S. facilities, causing infrastructural damage and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
