Iran's Foreign Minister Araqchi Says US Took Hardline Stance Near Agreement

Iran's Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi stated that Iran entered negotiations with the United States in good faith to end the war, but the US adopted a hardline stance on the verge of an agreement, changed the conditions and imposed sanctions.

Araqchi posted on his X page: "Good faith begets good faith, and enmity brings enmity."

President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that if the US abandons its domineering approach and respects Iran's rights, the ground for an agreement will be provided. He emphasized that there are "certainly" ways to reach an agreement if Iran's rights are observed.

Pezeshkian expressed appreciation to the negotiation team, particularly Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, president of Iran's parliament and head of the team negotiating with the US, and wished them success.

The statements come amid ongoing discussions between Iran and the US, with Iranian officials highlighting their commitment to good-faith negotiations while criticizing recent US actions.
