The Irish cricket team defeated India by one run during the second match of the T20 series held at Stormont. With this win, Ireland completed a clean sweep of the series by two matches to zero against the world champions. The first match in the series had been won by Ireland with a margin of 34 runs.

During the second match, the Ireland team batted first and managed to post a score of 154 runs while losing eight wickets. Harry Tector played a key innings of 53 runs. This performance came in his 100th T20 international match. The bowlers Jai Moondra and Matthew Hollard were the main wicket takers as they each secured three wickets.

When India began their innings in pursuit of the target, they lost three quick wickets. The score was 19 for three after Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Shreyas Iyer had been dismissed.

India fought back in the middle and later stages of the innings. However, they were unable to complete the chase. Harshit Rana was dismissed caught on the penultimate ball of the match. The team still needed eight runs from the last two balls at that point.

The series win is the first time that Ireland has achieved a T20 series victory over India. This result formed part of a historic weekend for Irish cricket that also featured a victory in the Women’s T20 World Cup.
