Islamic Emirate Minister Defends Territorial Integrity, Condemns Pakistani Attacks
Mullah Abdul Kabir, minister of refugees and repatriates for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, stated at an Eid al-Fitr ceremony at the Presidential Palace that the Islamic Emirate defends the country's territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
The event on Thursday was attended by Amir Khan Muttaqi, the foreign minister, high-ranking Islamic Emirate officials, ambassadors and diplomats resident in Kabul, scholars and mujahideen. In his speech, Abdul Kabir congratulated participants on Eid amid regional and global transformations and violence that threaten stability.
He outlined the Islamic Emirate's priorities as strengthening the Islamic system, implementing Sharia, ensuring justice and fostering national unity. Abdul Kabir highlighted development programs including large regional projects, trade expansion, transit route activation, transparent natural resource management, agricultural growth and infrastructure development.
Afghanistan can serve as a bridge for economic cooperation between South Asia and Central Asia, he said, adding that Kabul pursues an economic, balanced policy based on good neighborliness and seeks relations of mutual respect and common interests with all countries.
Abdul Kabir condemned recent attacks by Pakistan as contrary to international and Islamic principles, stating war serves no one's interest and urging Pakistani scholars and people not to let bilateral ties fall victim to foreign powers. He thanked countries mediating dialogue between Afghanistan and Pakistan, noting Kabul's openness to negotiations while affirming readiness to respond to any aggression and defend sovereignty.
The minister also addressed Afghanistan's hosting of millions of returnees from Iran, Pakistan and elsewhere. He condemned violence in the Persian Gulf and attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran, calling on Islamic countries to unite against such events.
