Islamic Emirate Officials Attend Eid al-Fitr Prayers at Arg; Prime Minister Akhund Issues Message Condemning Pakistan
Eid al-Fitr prayers were performed at the Arg Grand Mosque and the Grand Mosque of Hassan Basri with the participation of high-ranking Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan officials, including Mullah Baradar Akhund, Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wase, head of the Prime Minister's Office, cabinet ministers, civil and military officials, and a large gathering of citizens.
Sheikh Mohammad Faqir Mohammadi spoke before the prayers at the Arg Grand Mosque on the virtues and blessings of Ramadan and Eid, citing verses from the Quran and Hadith.
Dr. Mullah Abdul Wase read a message from Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund on the occasion. In the message, Akhund extended congratulations to compatriots, particularly families of martyrs, orphans, widows, and those affected by recent events, and prayed for acceptance of their fasts, alms, worships, and good deeds.
Akhund referred to martyrdoms from recent imposed wars and blind bombings, as well as compatriots forcibly deported from neighboring countries, affected by natural disasters, or left homeless by bombings and rocket attacks. He urged assistance to those impacted during Eid celebrations.
The Prime Minister praised the Islamic Emirate's security and defense forces for ensuring safety during the holiday.
Akhund strongly condemned the Pakistani military regime's aggression, describing it as an unforgivable crime, including recent airstrikes on an addicts' treatment center that martyred and wounded hundreds. He stated the Islamic Emirate did not initiate the conflict, prefers resolution through dialogue, and is committed to protecting the country's independence, territorial integrity, and national honor.
