Israeli Minister Says U.S. Approach to Iran Is Naive, Israel May Need to Act Alone

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stated that the United States is taking a very naive approach toward Iran. He said Tehran has no intention of abandoning its nuclear program and that Israel must be prepared to act alone against the threat.

Ben-Gvir made the remarks in an interview with Israel’s Channel 7. He described Iran’s nuclear ambitions as a strategic threat to Israel and argued that the country will not give up its program.

The comments come amid ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran. The talks, which followed meetings in Switzerland, have produced a preliminary understanding covering regional security, maritime stability, and Iran’s nuclear activities.

U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly backed the negotiations and expressed hope that they will prevent a wider regional conflict. At the same time, differences remain between Washington and Tel Aviv over Israeli military operations in Lebanon, with the United States urging restraint.
