Kabul Teen Publishes Book on Prophet’s Wives After Reading Hundreds of Religious Texts
Zainab Ayubi, a nineteen-year-old resident of Kabul, has read more than three hundred religious books over the past four years and recently published a fifteen-chapter work detailing the lives of the wives of the Prophet Muhammad. Born in two thousand five, Ayubi shifted to independent study and online coursework after formal educational opportunities for girls were restricted in Afghanistan.
Ayubi’s published book, titled Seerat of the Mothers of the Believers, was released in twenty twenty-four. She has continued her academic pursuits by enrolling in an online university program focused on Sharia studies. Her family has provided consistent support for her home-based education, supplying both physical texts and digital learning materials to facilitate her research.
Education expert Jamaluddin Sulaimani highlighted Ayubi’s academic progress as an example of how young women in the country are adapting to current constraints. He stated that her self-directed learning demonstrates that Afghan girls can continue their studies through alternative methods when traditional classrooms are unavailable. Sulaimani emphasized that such initiatives help preserve educational continuity and intellectual development during periods of institutional restriction.
Ayubi’s work has drawn attention from local educators who view her achievements as part of a broader pattern of Afghan youth maintaining academic engagement outside formal school systems. Her research remains focused on historical and religious scholarship, with her ongoing studies conducted entirely through remote instruction and independent reading.
