Kandahar Bans Printing and Selling of Flags Other Than Official Flag of Islamic Emirate

The Kandahar Department of Information and Culture has imposed a ban on the printing, publication, purchase and sale of any flags other than the official flag of the Islamic Emirate in the province.

Instructions were issued to libraries, printing centers, stationery stores, printing presses, decoration centers, and sales outlets in Kandahar city and all districts to strictly refrain from such activities.

The directive states that permission for printing and publication is granted only for the official flag of the Islamic Emirate. The ban prohibits all listed activities regarding flags that are not the official one.

The instructions apply to the entire province, including the capital city and every district. All specified businesses and locations must adhere to the notice without exception.

The official notice from the Department of Information and Culture details the prohibition clearly. Businesses involved in printing, selling and related fields have received the communication directly. This includes places that provide decoration services where flags might be used as well as stationery stores that may sell such items.

Printing presses and centers are particularly affected by the new prohibition. The measure has been put in place across all relevant sectors in Kandahar. Compliance with the ban is expected to be immediate and complete. The department has the responsibility for information and culture in the province and has exercised its authority in this regard.
