President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan has signed a law approving a memorandum of cooperation with the United Nations to establish a regional center for sustainable development goals in Central Asia and Afghanistan. The center will be located in Almaty.

The Kazakh government will allocate three million dollars annually from 2025 to 2029 to fund the center's activities.

Experts say the center will link Afghanistan more closely to United Nations regional programs and improve coordination between Central Asian countries and Afghanistan, thereby supporting regional stability.
