KSRelief Distributes Food Aid to 2,000 Needy Families in Kabul

KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) distributed food packages to 2,000 needy, displaced and returnee families in Kabul on Saturday.

Each package included a sack of flour, a bottle of cooking oil, 5 kilograms of rice, 5 kilograms of sugar and 5 kilograms of beans. The distribution was carried out with technical support from the Technical Support and Development Organization (TSDO).

Mawlawi Sher Mohammad, head of returnees at the Kabul Refugees Department, said around 40,000 needy and returnee families in Kabul have so far received cash and food assistance through the program.

He added that the initiative has been implemented across 24 provinces and is expanding, with involvement from provincial departments of economy and refugees.

Ibrahim Fazli, TSDO administrator, highlighted the plight of returnees from Iran and Pakistan sheltering in Kabul, noting they are in an emergency situation due to recent rainy days.

Both officials described the aid as insufficient to meet the needs of the beneficiaries. They called for additional support, job opportunities and the continuation of such efforts by charitable organizations and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Recipients echoed these sentiments, urging more comprehensive assistance to address ongoing hardships faced by displaced and returnee populations.
