Lebanon's Ministry of Health announced that at least 2,020 people have been killed and more than 6,400 wounded in Israeli attacks across the country since March 2, 2026.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the attacks amid rising civilian casualties, including children. Human Rights Watch called on the United States, Britain, Germany and other European Union countries to halt arms sales and military aid to Israel.
The World Food Programme stated that Lebanon is facing a food security crisis due to the war. Reuters reported disruptions in the entry of goods into Lebanon, which have reduced access to food.
Israeli attacks have destroyed large parts of Lebanon's infrastructure, worsening the overall humanitarian situation as the country grapples with escalating violence and its consequences.

Reliability assessment
Single source (RTA) provides direct, on-record attribution from named entity Lebanon's Ministry of Health with concrete, checkable details (2,020 deaths since specific date March 2, 2026); also cites named UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Human Rights Watch, World Food Programme, and Reuters.
The source language mixes facts with framing or advocacy wording. RTA: "Israeli regime" – repeated pejorative term implying illegitimacy rather than neutral "Israel"; "strongly condemned" – adds emotional intensity to Guterres' statement; calls to "halt arms sales... to this regime" – frames advocacy with loaded labeling.
