Lightning strikes and severe weather conditions in Nuristan and Nangarhar provinces have resulted in multiple deaths and injuries, affecting several families and including children.

In Nuristan province, a lightning strike occurred in the Dehoz area of the Want district. Ahmed Bashir Barkizadeh, the spokesperson for the Taliban police in Nuristan, confirmed that the incident resulted in the death of a woman. Two other members of the same family, a man and a seven-year-old child, were injured in the strike.

In Nangarhar province, lightning and severe storms caused further casualties in the Momandrah district. Two people were killed in the district, including one child. Three other individuals were injured in the event, including a woman and two children.

These incidents are part of a recent trend of deadly natural disasters occurring across the country.
