Logar and Maidan Wardak Families Resolve Year-Long Feud Through Mediation
A year-long dispute between families in the Babus area of Logar province and the Tangi Dara area of Maidan Wardak province has been peacefully resolved following a formal mediation process. The reconciliation was facilitated by officials from the Islamic Emirate, alongside tribal elders and religious scholars.
The conflict originated approximately one year ago after the killing of a man identified as Sifatullah near Mamoorino Township in Pul-i-Alam. The incident sparked a prolonged feud between the two families, prompting local authorities and community leaders to intervene.
Qari Mohammad Ashraf Nishtar, the Logar Director of Tribal and Border Affairs, and Sayedabad district governor Mawlavi Sardar Ahmad Sabit confirmed the successful conclusion of the mediation. Both officials praised the efforts of the mediators and emphasized the importance of resolving local disputes through dialogue and traditional mechanisms. They noted that the intervention prevented further violence and restored stability to the affected communities.
During the reconciliation ceremony, representatives from both families formally pledged to uphold the peace agreement and take measures to prevent future conflicts. The agreement underscores the continued role of provincial authorities and local elders in managing inter-family disputes across the region.
Officials stated that the resolution was reached after extensive consultations with both sides, focusing on compensation, mutual forgiveness, and the establishment of long-term security arrangements. The mediation process reflects broader efforts by provincial administrations to address grassroots conflicts without resorting to prolonged hostilities.
