Long-Standing Family Feuds Resolved in Samangan, Baghlan, and Jowzjan
The Ministry of Borders, Tribal and Ethnic Affairs has announced the peaceful resolution of several long-standing family disputes across three northern provinces. Officials confirmed that coordinated tribal mediation and government intervention successfully concluded conflicts in Samangan, Baghlan, and Jowzjan.
In the Burka district of Baghlan province, a murder-related family feud was settled through joint efforts between local tribal elders and ministry representatives. Provincial authorities in Aybak, Samangan, brokered an agreement to end a nine-year dispute between two households. Meanwhile, department leadership in Sheberghan, Jowzjan, facilitated the resolution of a five-year conflict involving several families.
Representatives of the Islamic Emirate attended the reconciliation events, using the occasions to promote national unity and social solidarity. Officials emphasized that resolving historical grievances through structured dialogue and traditional mediation mechanisms strengthens community ties and prevents cycles of retaliation. The ministry highlighted these settlements as demonstrations of effective cooperation between provincial departments and local leadership.
Authorities noted that tribal elders played a central role in negotiating terms acceptable to all disputing parties. The ministry reiterated its ongoing commitment to addressing inter-family conflicts and fostering an environment of mutual respect. By integrating traditional dispute resolution practices with administrative oversight, officials stated they aim to maintain regional stability and encourage long-term peaceful coexistence.
