
Meteorology Department Warns of Heavy Rain, Strong Winds and Flooding Across All 34 Provinces
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Afghanistan's Meteorology Department has issued a warning for heavy rain, strong winds and flooding in all 34 provinces of the country, including the Salang passes.
The alert is forecasted for Monday, 17 Hamal, corresponding to April 6, 2026. The department highlighted risks across the nation amid expectations of severe weather conditions.
Provinces in the north expected to be affected include Jowzjan, Sar-e Pol, Faryab, Samangan, Balkh, Baghlan, Kunduz, Takhar and Badakhshan.
In the west and south, the warning covers Badghis, Herat, Farah, Ghor, Nimroz, Helmand and Kandahar.
Central and eastern provinces facing the weather threats are Daykundi, Bamyan, Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Paktika, Paktia, Khost, Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, Kapisa, Kabul, Parwan and Panjshir.
The nationwide scope of the warning underscores the potential for widespread impacts from the anticipated heavy precipitation and gusty winds.
