Millions Protest Trump Policies and Iran War Across US, Sanders Calls Conflict Illegal
WASHINGTON — Widespread protests against U.S. President Donald Trump's policies and the war against Iran erupted across the United States, with demonstrators gathering in more than 3,000 locations across all 50 states.
Reports indicate over 7 million people participated, many chanting "Not my president."
Senator Bernie Sanders spoke at a protest in Minnesota, accusing the Trump administration of lying about the Iran war.
"The Trump administration is lying about the Iran war and it must be stopped," Sanders said.
Sanders criticized Trump for breaking election promises not to waste taxpayer money on wars, stating that the conflict is illegal because it was not approved by Congress and was started by Trump on his own whim.
The protests reflect broad opposition to Trump's handling of foreign policy, particularly the ongoing war with Iran.
