
Minister of Urban Development and Housing Emphasizes Accelerating Land Transfers to Migrants' Townships
Maulvi Najibullah Haqqani, Minister of Urban Development and Housing, chaired a meeting of the permanent settlement committee focused on advancing the settlement of migrants who have returned to the country.
The gathering included representatives from the ministries of Refugees, Water and Energy, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, and Rural Rehabilitation and Development, as well as the Environmental Protection Administration, Emirate Water Supply Company, and General Directorate of Intelligence.
Participants held comprehensive discussions on identifying and confirming Emirate lands for establishing migrants' townships. They also addressed alternative solutions in provinces where no Emirate lands are available according to specified guidelines, and shared views on distributing temporary land document forms to migrants.
Haqqani stressed the need to accelerate the process of transferring lands to migrants' townships. He directed relevant departments to coordinate effectively on selecting and clearing lands, and to expedite their efforts to ensure the permanent settlement of returning migrants is carried out in an orderly, rapid, and effective manner.
The permanent settlement committee functions as a coordination framework among various Emirate departments. It handles land identification, township planning, and service provision to deliver dignified living conditions for returned compatriots.
