KABUL (Afghan Verified) — The Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice reported addressing around 6,000 cases related to women's rights during solar year 1404.
The cases included issues of inheritance rights, forced marriages and prevention of domestic violence, according to the ministry's one-year achievements report.
The report detailed additional accomplishments over the year. The ministry resolved 3,800 enmities and personal vendettas.
In line with a decree from the Islamic Emirate leadership, ministry officials collected 6,000 mental patients nationwide and handed them over to the Afghan Red Crescent for treatment.
It also arrested more than 700 people on charges of sorcery and referred them to judicial and legal organs.
Among other efforts, the ministry addressed 6,000 complaints from citizens and took action to prevent hoarding and price increases in markets.
