The Ministry of Justice reports that the Commission for the Prevention of Land Grabbing has identified more than 367,573 jeribs of public pastureland in Jawzjan province.

The lands are located in Jawzjan city and the districts of Khwaja Du Koh, Khanqah, Qush Tepa, Aqcha, Faizabad and Darzab.

Ninety three point seven four percent of the identified land, more than 344,000 jeribs, remains pastureland. Around 23,000 jeribs have been converted to farmland, residential areas or other uses.

The commission's survey team continues inspections in other provinces. The lands will be registered in the national land bank after completion of the surveys.

This is in line with Article 13 of the Law on the Prevention of Land Grabbing and the Restitution of Grabbed Lands, which prohibits encroachment on public pastureland.
