Mosque and School Complex Completed in Herat’s Injil District
Construction of a mosque and a school has been completed in Talabo village, located in the Injil district of Herat province. The newly built educational and religious complex was officially handed over for community use following its completion. Local administrators confirmed that the facilities meet regional standards and are ready for immediate occupancy.
The project was financially supported by Saad Khatibi, a national merchant, with construction costs reaching nearly one million United States dollars. The facility spans sixteen jeribs of land and includes dedicated spaces for both religious instruction and formal schooling. Local authorities have indicated that the site will eventually be expanded to include a health clinic and a cultural center. These additional structures are expected to further support community welfare and educational outreach.
During the handover event, local education officials and community residents expressed support for the initiative. Hamidullah Hanif, a representative of the local education department, emphasized the role of private investment in strengthening public infrastructure. Residents welcomed the completion of the complex and requested that similar development projects be implemented in surrounding communities. Community leaders highlighted the need for sustained investment in rural educational facilities.
The newly completed facilities will immediately begin operations to serve the local population. Provincial authorities noted that privately funded initiatives continue to play a significant role in expanding educational and religious services across the region. Officials stated that ongoing coordination between local benefactors and government departments will help address infrastructure gaps in outlying districts.
