Muhtasebeen Rescue 17 Women from Various Oppressions in Faryab
The Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has announced that its Muhtasebeen rescued 17 women from domestic violence and inappropriate customs in Faryab province. The operations were carried out over the course of the past two weeks in the center and districts of the province. These actions have helped in restoring the Sharia rights of the women involved.
The 17 women were reportedly subjected to long-term psychological and physical torture by their husbands. This situation had persisted for quite some time and had resulted in the women being deprived of their fundamental rights as guaranteed under Sharia.
In response to these cases, the Muhtasebeen took necessary steps to intervene and provide assistance to the victims. Commitments were subsequently obtained from the husbands of these women. The husbands agreed to stop the inappropriate acts and to respect the rights of their wives going forward.
In addition to individual interventions, provincial officials of the ministry continuously organize corrective meetings with members of the local population. The purpose of these gatherings is to educate people on the importance of granting women their Sharia rights and to help correct prevailing mindsets that may lead to harmful practices.
These sustained efforts by the ministry officials have reportedly brought about significant positive changes in Faryab province. The ministry believes that such measures are essential for the protection of women and the promotion of a society that adheres to Islamic values and justice.
